LaVeck's Impatient Garden

There are so many exciting things happening in the LaVeck's Adventurous Garden! By this point of the season, Josh and I are so ready for things to get going in our garden that we should probably be renamed LaVeck's Impatient Garden.

After waiting for what has felt like forever, I got too impatient this morning to wait for the last frost day (here its March 28th this year) that I couldn't help but start quite a few herb seeds indoors. All of Josh's peppers are outside enjoying the lovely weather that we have been so grateful to receive, which means that I have most of the indoor growing area to myself. Although we will be getting a little cold spell in a couple of days where the peppers will have to come back inside, I couldn't just sit around staring at empty tables, so I took the opportunity to start some more seeds. Where are they going to go when the peppers come back inside? Who knows, but for now, I'm enjoying all of the space that my little seed starters have.

While there is still SOOOO much to be done outside in order to prepare for transplanting when its consistently warm outside, like building at least 3 more garden beds to support all of the plants we have already started and setting up some hydroponics stations, there are so many exciting things happening inside that I thought I'd share with you guys!

Lots of our little ones are starting to grow their first set of true leaves!

Red Wonder Wild Strawberries, Dragon's Egg Cucumber, and Dwarf Lemon Cilantro.

We've also been growing a lot of other things that have taken off very well and we are just waiting to put them outside. This doesn't even show half of what we are growing this year. We have a wide variety of herbs, a million tomato varieties, cucumbers, eggplants, fruit, and corn.

Look at how much things have grown since we started the seeds a few weeks ago!

We are still playing around with sprouting some of our tomatoes and herbs and we've even had to restart many plants due to failure to sprout. It's been a rollercoaster ride already and the season hasn't even truly began. Gardening is all about trial and error so just as we had a learning and experimenting year last season, this season is going to be very much the same but with completely different and about 5 times as many types of fruits, veggies, and herbs.
