This post has been much too delayed and I greatly apologize. Between work and eating things that make me ill, I haven't found the energy to write. That being said, I felt as though you guys deserve a post this week due to my track record being poor in staying consistent with writing so here is a little post I put together for all of you makeup lovers out there.

I am not a beauty guru by any means, but I'm borderline obsessed with makeup. I LOVE playing around with my collection and trying new products. I'm also cheap so being a makeup lover as well as broke, you can guarantee that I try to find and use the best products I can find for a budget. Everything I am using in this post is under $15. I tend to stick with the neutrals but sometimes I like to get a little crazy and play with some color. For this look though, I wanted to do something more holiday appropriate, since we are in the midst of that time of year, to inspire those of you who need a makeup look for any parties or events you may be attending this holiday season. As I stated, I am not an expert, I've just watched way too much YouTube and this is how I currently do a full face of makeup.

This makeup look is a full face which is not my regular routine but I will walk you through ever step that I did. You ready? It's time to get your brushes out!

The first thing you need to do is start with a clean and moisturized face. Girl, look at those dark circles. We need to cover those things up!

But first, eyeshadow. If you're going to be doing a full face that's a little extra on the eyes, then here's a tip for you: Do your eyeshadow first so that way you can wipe off any fallout from the eyeshadow without ruining the rest of your face.

To begin my eyeshadow look, I used the In Your Prime Ultimate Eye Primer by Flower Beauty. If you have oily eyelids, I'd probably recommend a different primer, or you can use your concealer as a primer as well. You then need to set your primer with a matte skin toned eye shadow. This will not only keep your primer from creasing, but it will also help your eyeshadows that you place on top of the primer to blend easier.

I have been loving the newer Color Icon eyeshadow palettes from Wet n Wild for the past several months. The pigmentation is great, they are easy to work with, and they have a decent range of neutrals and fun colors to choose from.

After I had my eyeshadow base complete, I used the taupe transition shade in the Nude Awakening palette as

a transition for my crease. You want your first transition shade to have a blurred out affect. So blend, blend, blend! I then took the brick red transition shade in the Comfort Zone palette and blended that shade a little deeper into my crease. This shade didn't end up giving me the red tone that I was looking for so I ended up using the burgundy shade in the Nude Awakening palette to deepen up the brick red. To create even more depth to the look, I took the dark brown from the Not A Basic Peach palette and concentrated it on the outer edge of my crease. Don't forget to blend so that you don't have any harsh lines between shades; You want everything to transition smoothly from one shade to the next.

After my crease was blended out and I had created some depth to the look, I then took a wet flat shader brush to pack the yellow-gold shade from the Not A Basic Peach palette on the inner half of my lid space. I used my NYX dewy makeup setting spray in order to wet my eyeshadow brush. Wetting your brush for those metallic or satin shadows makes them POP on the lid. I then took that berry shade from the Not A Basic Peach palette with another wet flat shader brush and packed it on the outer portion of my lid space. This color wasn't giving me 100% what I wanted by using the wet brush so I did pack it on using my finger which sometimes works better with certain metallic or satin shadows. To brighten up the lid a little, I took the champagne shade from the Rosé in the Air palette on my finger and tapped just a little bit of it directly in the center of the lid. This brightens up the eye by focusing the attention to the center of your lid.

After you'd dusted away any fallout that you might have, it's time to work on the rest of your face. The first step to any full face of makeup should be primer. Primer helps your makeup go on smoother and depending on which type of primer you use, it can make your pores look smaller. I like to use the e.l.f Tone Adjusting Primer so make up pores look smaller and to help cancel out some of the redness from my rosacea.

Once my primer is on, I use the Wet n Wild Mega Cushion Color Correctors in green and peach. I use the green color corrector to cancel out any redness on my cheeks and forehead, and I use the peach color corrector underneath my eyes to cancel out any dark circles. I have used other color correctors before but I prefer the Wet n Wild ones because the tones aren't over powering on my fair skin and the formula isn't too thick. After blending out the color correctors, I then blend out Wet n Wild's Photo Focus Foundation in Rose Ivory all over my face. Make sure to blend all the way back to your ears and somewhat down your neck so that your skin tone looks even overall.

Next is concealer to finish concealing those horrendous dark circles and blemishes as well as to begin highlighting the face. My favorite concealer at the moment is the Catrice Cosmetics Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer in Porcelain. You can tell I love this concealer because the picture below is what my second tube is looking like. If you're waiting to do a little bit of initial highlighting using concealer, I generally put a tiny bit on the high point of my chin, down the very center of my nose, and a few short lines going from about the middle of my eyebrows to almost halfway up my forehead. Make sure you blend everything out so everything looks seamless.

After you have all of your liquid products on, it's time to set everything so it doesn't crease or budge. Baking is for cookies, and not a face with dry skin so I just take a big fluffy brush and set my concealer and foundation using the Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder in Extra Translucent. This powder is finely milled so yes, it will cause a dust storm, and it is fragranced so if you're sensitive to fragrances, I'm sorry because this is a REALLY good face powder.

Now that I look like a ghost, it's time to add some color back into my face. (Girl, we also have to do something about those under eye bags. Good gravy.)

If you know anything about anything (makeup wise), you know that the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer is to die for. I just use the original shade called "Bronzer." I also love the Butter Blush in the shade Vintage Rose. Not only do these product blend absolutely beautifully, they also smell like an island vacation, come on now...

Next comes one of the best parts of any makeup look: HIGHLIGHTER! It's so shiny and so sparkly and so pretty... One of my favorite highlighters to use at the moment is the Wet n Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder in the shade Precious Petals. I use a highlighting brush to highlight the high points of my cheek bones and then I use a small eyeshadow brush to highlight the bridge of my nose, Cupid's bow, brow bone, and inner corner of my eyes. I choose to use the same highlight shade to highlight all of those areas so that the entire look is cohesive. The picture below definitely does not do this highlighter justice with how beautiful it looks.

After I out some color back into my face, I then took the burgundy shade from the Nude Awakening palette on the shortest brushes I have ever come across and I love to death (the Wet n Wild Smoky Liner brush) and smudge the shadow on the outer half of my lower lash line as close to my lash line as possible. I then took the same brush (but not the same because I have multiples- showing you how much this brush is a necessity in one's makeup brush collection) and smudged the yellow-gold shade from the Not A Basic Peach palette on the inner half of my lower lash line as close to the lash line as possible. I then took that original taupe transition shade from the Nude Awakening palette on a smudge brush and blended out the burgundy on the lower lash line.

I consider myself lucky to have pretty decent brows because shaping and filling in just right using an eyebrow pencil just sounds like too much work to me, so I use the Wet n Wild Ultimate Brow retractable pencil in Ash Brown just to fill in some of those sparse areas of my brows.

After eyebrows were done, I then took the best mascara in the entire universe, the L'oréal Lash Paradise in Mystic Black (yes, there is a difference between mystic black and blackest black) and coated my top and bottom lashes.

Now, while I enjoy the way that lipstick looks, I prefer not to wear it because I'm terrified of smudging it all over my face or ruining it by eating or drinking and to me its also uncomfortable. But, my mommy always told me that "A look was never complete without some color on your lips," so I used the Wet n Wild Perfect Pout Gel Lip Liner in the shade Bare to Comment to line my lips. I then used the L'oréal Infallible Pro-Matte Liquid Lipstick in the shade Plum Bum.

After all that work and effort to only have your makeup on for a few hours, you want to make sure it isn't going ANYWHERE for those few hours by using some makeup setting spray. I use the same setting spray that I use to wet my makeup brushes, the NYX dewy makeup setting spray, in order to keep my makeup from separating, creasing, and any other odd things that I don't want it to do.

Now that you have a full face of holiday makeup, GO PARTY!
